About Dion Green
Dion Green is a survivor, an author, a mentor, and leader, as well as an agent for change within his community. After enduring the tragedy of the mass-shooting that occurred in Dayton, Ohio in August of 2019, which claimed the life of his father and many other innocent victims, Mr. Green founded the Fudge Foundation (Flourishing Under Distress Given Encouragement), a 501c3 nonprofit that helps survivors through traumatic experiences with resources and support. This also inspired him to advocate for mental and gun legislation.
Mr. Green has remained a pillar within his community. In addition to his Foundation, Gun Legislation Advocacy service, and Gun Rally participation, he also serves on the Board of Felons with a Future, Upturn Ohio, the Urban Institute Advisory Council, and the National Mass Violence Victimization Advisory Council. Mr. Green is the recipient of multiple awards and recognition from local officials and Governors including the being recognized as a community Gem twice by The Daily Dayton News and is also the recipient of the Coretta Scott King Legacy Award presented by the Coretta Scott King Center for Cultural and Intellectual Freedom in April 2022. He has also been invited to the White House twice and The Fudge Foundation received the Agency of the Year Award at the 2024 Social Work Gala.
His leadership reigns throughout the community and beyond. He remains dedicated to working with people from a variety of backgrounds and enhancing the community. It is this that has led him to run for State Representative of Ohio House District 39.
